World Quidditch League (WQL) was founded in order that witches and wizards from all continents can partake in the game of quidditch. 

The purpose for this internet, text-based game is to allow all interested parties to participate. The foundations of WQL will be a league tournament, involving organised matches, trained referees and agreed rules. WQL will be known for fairness, good sportspersonship, making friends and having fun. Based on the Harry Potter books by J K Rowling, World Quidditch League will unite quidditch players around the globe, leading to international co-operation and understanding.
